Why wouldn't I just hire a full-time designer?
A senior product designer in-house costs $120K-$180K per year in salary alone. Add equity, benefits, recruiter fees, and 3-6 months to hire. That's $150K+ in fixed annual cost before they ship anything. Here, the engagement is starting at $6k per month. Pause anytime. No equity, no benefits, no hiring search. How is this different from a design subscription service?
Design subscription services scale by volume. You submit requests into a ticket queue, a rotating pool of junior or mid-level designers handles them, and you get back design files. It works for marketing assets, social posts, and small repetitive jobs. I'm a strategic partner, not design support. Same person every week, focused on your business goals, not just your tickets. You get senior thinking on the product, the brand, and the work that actually moves the business.
What kind of founders do you work with?
Usually early-stage to Series A in SaaS, AI, and fintech. Founders who've shipped a product but feel design is holding it back. Founders who value senior thinking and want results, not just pretty pixels. Founders who understand this is an investment, not an expense.
Do you work on a project basis?
Yes. For smaller projects with a clearly defined scope, I work on a project basis. Ideal for websites, landing pages, or an initial product design sprint. Starting at $4,000 for a landing page.
Do you do code/development, or just design?
Yes, both. I build production websites in Framer, end to end. No code needed, since Framer handles it. I also ship vibe-coded prototypes via Claude Code when you need to see and click through an idea before committing. The AI writes the code, I direct the design.
How fast can you start?
Usually within a week, sometimes sooner. To get started, we'll have a quick call to make sure we're a fit, then a first payment to kick things off. From there, expect first designs within days, not weeks.
What does "pause anytime" actually mean?
If business gets in the way and you don't have a month's worth of design work, you can pause your retainer. Each retainer month runs 4 weeks. If you pause mid-month, the remaining days stay on your account and you can use them whenever you come back. When you're ready to resume, just let me know.
What if we're not a good fit?
If we're not a fit after the first week, I'll refund 75% of the first month, no questions asked. That covers the time I've already spent learning your product and shipping initial designs. If something feels off later on, tell me directly. I'd rather hear it early and fix it than push through something that isn't working. You can cancel or skip the next month's retainer anytime.
Who owns the work?
You own everything I design for you, end to end. No licensing, no usage restrictions, no surprises. Once the invoice is paid, it's yours. I do reserve the right to feature the work in my portfolio and case studies, usually after launch. If you need an NDA, no problem at all.
What do you need from me to get started?
Just enough context about your product, your team, and what you're trying to fix. I'll send a short form to gather it before we kick off. Once that's in and the first payment is made, I have usually everything I need to start.
